CueSight gives you the perfect aim

CueSight gives you the perfect aim

CueSight has come up with a device that helps you pot those balls with ease, thanks to a device that helps you perfect your stroke. Since practice makes perfect, it makes sense to practice using the right techniques, and the CueSight does just this by using a crosshair system that helps you perform strokes that remain fixed within a certain strike spot. I guess games such as golf and billiards will definitely need nifty gizmos such as this to keep the beginner and enthusiast crowd happy, knowing that they are taking pro-active steps to improve their game. Check out the CueSight website for more information on a wide range of stuff that aim (no pun intended) to elevate your game to the next level.

Light Energy Cocktail Table

Light Energy Cocktail Table

So you plan to show do something to spruce up your room? What about this Light Energy Cocktail Table that is guaranteed to elicit pangs of jealousy on your bachelor mates, featuring a whole range of lighting schemes that include a plain solid color to a rainbow effect. In addition, you also get color fade and random fade among others. Sounds like a great home appliance to turn on whenever you’re spending some quiet time with a loved one, but this is definitely something that should be barred whenever you are trying to catch a movie. Having pulsing lights in the middle of the living room sure is distracting to say the least. The Light Energy Cocktail Table will most likely burn a hole in most pockets with its $2,480 price tag.

Classy glass in Nokia 8600 Luna

Classy glass in Nokia 8600 Luna

Nokia’s latest effort, the Nokia 8600 Luna will certainly set your pulse racing as it is made from nearly opaque smoked glass complete with unique, soft-touch stainless steel. Nokia has named this the Luna in honor of the goddess of moonlight, as it boasts a beauty that is second to none. This beauty however falls short when it comes to the brain department - you get a ho-hum set of features found in ordinary phones for mere mortals. The Luna is equipped with a singel micro USB port for various connectivity purposes and a 2 megapixel camera. You can pick up the Lune for a whopping €700 when it is launched in Q2 this year. At that price (before taxes and subsidies), it makes the iPhone look more and more like a bargain.

USB Think Light shows you are working

USB Think Light shows you are working

The USB Think Light from Brando is a pretty interesting device that lights up whenever your fingers fly across the keyboard furiously in an attempt to finish a 100-page report that will be due in an hour’s time. This device is plugged into any available USB port, and comes with five different levels of lighting. Obviously, the faster you type, the brighter the USB Think Light will glow, giving a visual indicator to your boss or superior that you’re busy chatting over an IM program…I mean, completing that report. At $15 a pop, this is certainly a frivolity one can do without at the office as its novelty factor will probably wear thin after a short while.

Europe’s Ford Mondeo sports ‘allergy tested interior’

Filed under:

While Ford struggles to do anything right here in the States, the firm’s European-bound Mondeo should appeal to those who just so happen to suffer from allergies across the pond. The whip, which is being gratuitously dubbed the “most technologically advanced car ever launched by Ford in Europe,” does indeed tout the German TÜV Rhineland group’s “Allergy Tested Interior” seal of approval, and suffered through an “extensive series of scientifically verifiable tests” in order to receive it. Ford engineers reportedly strayed from using materials such as “latex, chrome, and nickel that can provoke allergic reactions in some people,” and a high-performance pollen filter was also thrown in for good measure. The new Mondeo, allergy friendly interior and all, should be cruising onto European lots any day now.

Samsung lets people call your Miniskirt

Samsung lets people call your Miniskirt

Samsung has just exposed the Anycall Miniskirt in Korea, also known as the SCH-C220. This 10.9mm slider cellphone takes after the latest in fashion trends which is minimalism, and features a touchpad on the front LCD panel as well as a mirror type design coating. While such a coating is certainly pleasing to the eyes behind a showcase, it is nothing but a fingerprint magnet the moment you take it out from its pretty box. Features include integrated GPS connectivity, a 2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth support, a built-in MP3 player, an electronic dictionary, and mobile printing, coming in a choice of white, garnet red, or sapphire blue colors. The retail price of the Anycall Miniskirt is tipped to stand between $540 and $650.

Raon Digital’s Everun in the wild, starts at $700

The first Vega UMPC from Raon Digital definitely found its way into the hearts of those brave, generation one UMPC users. Not because it was technologically superior — a 500MHz AMD Geode LX800… puhlease. Rather, it was one of the first to break through $1,000. While others have moved on to Vista in their 2nd gen UMPCs, Raon’s new EVERUN continues down the XP route while packing significantly more bang for the buck. It’s scheduled to hit S.Korea in late June with prices starting at ₩650,000 or right around $700 for the entry level “EVERUN lite” model. Unfortunately, once the specialized importers add their markup, we’ll be looking at something closer to $900, unless we get lucky and Raon sells direct. They’ve also released a video which you can check after the break.

Encyclopaedia Britannica sues TomTom, Magellan for alleged patent infringement

Filed under:

TomTom has already tussled with Garmin over alleged patent infringement, but it looks like the company has now drawn some ire from a slightly more unexpected source, with Encyclopaedia Britannica now suing it, along with Magellan and, somewhat curiously, American TV & Appliance (a retailer based in Wisconsin). So far, about the only thing that’s known about the lawsuit — which was filed May 21 in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin — is that Encyclopaedia Britannica is claiming that the companies infringed on some of its patents for a “computerized map system.” Exactly how that applies to these three particular companies and not everyone else, we’re not sure, though we’re sure we’ll be hearing more about it soon enough.
