Falcon Xbox 360 rumors

Falcon Xbox 360 rumors

Have rumors materialized into fact? It seems that the Falcon Xbox 360 is finally available, so having a 65nm processor in your Xbox 360 ought to go a long way in avoiding the dreaded RROD situation that original 360 owners were faced with. Guess those price cuts surely had something to do this cheaper manufacturing process. Well, what are you waiting for - get your more stable Xbox 360 already if you haven’t, and pick up a copy of Halo 3 while you’re at it eh?

iPhone users calling for class action lawsuit over firmware v1.1.1

Filed under:

Angry with Apple over the absolute lockdown of the iPhone? You’re not alone. Angry enough to start a lawsuit over it? You’re probably in a far smaller group entirely, which now includes a number of rabble-rousers on Apple’s forums, whose comment threads were killed shortly after beginning discussions of calling for a class action suit against Apple. (Really though, what’d they expect?) There’s no question that users want some retribution for the sorry, sometimes even bricked state the iPhone’s now in, but big talk is infinitely smaller than even minor action, so until some brave (or publicity hungry) individuals step up to the plate to test legality of disabling hacked features on personal electronics, it sounds like we’ll all just have to be content with our $100 refunds or reduced-price purchases until this thing works itself out.

Cellphone used as electronic wallet

Cellphone used as electronic wallet

The wallet might soon be replaced by your cellphone as time and technology progresses. Mobile banking services are slowly but surely extending its reach into every aspect of life, turning the humble cellphone into a powerful, portable banking tool, enabling you to send and receive money, as well as purchase goods on-the-fly. Of course naysayers will have plenty of concern regarding security of the system, but it sure as heck beats carrying cash and credit cards around. The country of Philippines is making inroads where e-commerce is concerned as the two biggest mobile service subscribers (Globe Telecom and Smart Communications) have taken steps to promote e-commerce using cellphones. How do you see this development change your spending habits?

Sony to sell 11-inch OLED TVs

Sony to sell 11-inch OLED TVs

Sony will be putting up its diminutive 11″ OLED TV for sale from December onwards, featuring a panel that comes with 960 x 540 resolution. Best of all is, this is thinner than any other TV you’ve ever laid your eyes upon (slimmer than even those highly touted Ultra Slim Edition II handsets) - measuring a mere 3mm in thickness. Features include integrated digital TV tuners, an HDMI input, USB and Ethernet plugs. Do you think an 11″ display warrants to be called a TV, or is it just a mini monitor? The jury’s still out on this one, but one thing’s for sure - this Sony OLED TV ought to come with the label “Keep out of reach of children”.

Supersonic Sale: Concorde Auction Sees Toilet Seat Go for Astronomical Sum

concorde.pngAs the auction of Concorde gear in Toulouse enters its last day, let’s see what’s been snapped up, shall we? Well, you could have had a supersonic toilet seat (which goes even faster than this one) for just $3674. But the two most interesting pieces, a machometer, and a set of the supersonic plane’s landing gear, which weighs well over a ton, went for a bit more.

A machometer, the bit of kit that registered exactly when the plane broke the speed of sound, fetched $34,700. And the landing gear — just where exactly in his (only a man would, I think, buy this) house is the new owner going to show that off: in the guest bathroom? — went for the same amount of money. Ultimate cellphone concept

Ultimate cellphone concept

Mia Kim from Popgadget has requested for a condom dispenser to be included in her dream cellphone that targets females, and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Other goodies include a vibrator, a corkscrew to get that bottle of bubbly opened, an atomizer, and a home pregnancy test. I think she forgot to include a taser of some sort to keep those weirdos at bay. Would the fifth iteration of the iPhone finally include all those Holy Grail materials? Only time will tell, but my money’s against it.

i-SOBOT reviewed

Move over, Robosapien, there a new guy in town and he’s by far more entertaining. Now here’s a pretty comprehensive review of the i-SOBOT, one of the many mechanized toys that are set to rivet the attention of kids when Christmas season rolls around. This tiny robot that could is powered by a trio of AAA batteries and features four modes of operation - remote-control, voice command, special action, and pre-programmed. All these can be accessed via the controller, and commands are issued at the push of a button. The i-SOBOT is smart enough to react up to 10 voice commands and will be able to elicit a laugh from everyone by performing one of its many entertaining routines such as a tropical dance or matrial arts. You’ll be able to view more of the i-SOBOT here, here, and here.

Hexagon Wooden Mini Stereo Speakers

Hexagon Wooden Mini Stereo Speakers

The Hexagon Wooden Mini Stereo Speakers comes in the shape as implied by its name - a honeycomb complete with integrated amplifiers to keep your desktop rocking. They’re pretty small in stature though, measuring a mere 3.86″ x 3.35″ x 2.24″. Well, if price is of any indication, don’t expect something ear shattering especially when they retail between $15 and $18. Audiophiles, steer clear of this! If you own a notebook that has less than decent sound output, maybe getting this would be a good idea. I’d rather set a side slightly more money and get more bang for my buck, but different strokes for different folks eh?
